Where kids have fun while gaining life supporting skills that last a lifetime.
Inner Light of Mine's summer day camp is divided into two sessions of two weeks. The camp is based out of a residential yoga studio in Congers, NY. During the 3-hour session children/tweens will spend a significant portion outdoors - in the backyard, or neighboring Congers Park (a five minute walk from the studio).
Camp is a fun, interactive way for children and tweens to engage in their inner and outer worlds. It is designed to enrich the lives of children by employing mindfulness strategies and games while incorporating movement, art and nature. In a supportive, nurturing, non-competitive environment children will stretch and energize their minds and bodies, while learning indispensable tools of focus, self-calming, and relaxation. They will be encouraged to express themselves creatively and work cooperatively while learning essentials like: the significance of emotions and sensations, the importance of gratitude, how self-talk can be limiting or affirming, self-awareness, environmental awareness, connection between self and others.
Each week there is a yoga inspired art focus. Children will explore multiple mediums to create journal book covers, mala beads, clothing or mandalas. Yoga camp cultivates special bonds and friendships that last a lifetime!
In this fast-paced age of constant distraction we end-up neglecting the fundamentals. Inner light of mine's mission is to create an atmosphere that will encourage youth to honor their inner space with simplicity, compassion and joy.
